Dakota Communications Center uses a County-wide community notification system designed to quickly alert targeted areas of the public of emergencies that may affect their health or welfare. This system is capable of sending up to 60,000 calls per hour. In addition to hard-wire home phones that are automatically registered, Residents and Businesses in Dakota County can use the Dakota Communications Center website to self-register their cellular and other contact telephone numbers, along with email addresses, they would like alerted in the event of an emergency in the area of their Dakota County residence or business.
