Mass Telephone Notification System -
In September, 2009 the Dakota Communications Center implemented the CodeRed© high speed notification system designed to quickly notify the public of emergencies that may affect their health, safety or welfare. The system sends recorded messages to targeted areas within the County at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour. Examples of notification events are hazardous material spills, pandemic outbreaks or missing persons. All areas of Dakota County are covered by the system.
The system uses the 9-1-1 data base and other sources for its notification lists, but no one should assume that their information is included. For more information and access to self registration, click on the "CodeRed" logo below or the "Emergency Notification" tab at the top of this page.
